Straight outta Brampton BRAP BRAP…Ontario… comes one of the most silliest band names I’ve come across in quite some time. But I suppose It works for them. I’m not going to lie, clicking the link I was bracing for a wave of suck with my other hand on my volume knob.
Touch Me Airborne Plague have got something decent in their newest song, The Rate of Exchange which comes off of their own self titled sampler album. It’s like a teen punk sound with blasts of rock/pop that your not afraid to like in your 20 something’s. Which, lets face it is rare. There is something about the music that is strangely more grown up than something like A New Found Glory or Blink 182.
The bass just pounds through the background and there is even some sweet tambourine action later on in the song. The melodic style during the verses sounds like someone doing scales in a panic, its something that sounds really strange but it works well here.
So, even with such a silly band name, they manage to pull off some decent tunes. I will be following these guys and I look forward to their full length album “Culling Season” which is to be released in Jan.

The ska and reggae industry is thriving with many bands coming up with ways to bring originality back to the genre. The Supervillains are one of these bands. Residing out of Orlando,
Florida this band has the funky fresh reggae sound that keeps it’s fans wanting more.
The Supervillains released their fifth studio album, Massive in 2008. Massive has some originals as well as some songs that appeared on previous albums. Little Girl, Smok’em, Crippy Weed and St. Thomas, plus a few more, have been edited and given a new feel that really changes the sound of the song. The band brought in former Inner Circle member Christopher Bentley for Smok’em. Also, Slightly Stoopid’s Kyle MacDonald for The Pit.
The group also did a cover of Billy Joel’s - Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song) which, in my opinion, is much better than the original.
What you see is what you get with the Supervillains, some good partying music that includes some funny lyrics, great horns, groovy bass lines and great vocals. The band is known for its love of Marijuana, but also includes a subtle political message as they hope the great green grass is one day legalized.
This album is sure to fly to the tops of your most played. I personally listen to it at least once a day, just for good measure, and recommend the same for you!

I took a listen to Dartmouth Nova Scotia’s, The Danger Bees and I have to say these gents have made my shorts rise. Yes I can full on repeat I’ve swung all the way here.
The danger bee’s sound like a Weezer of old while incorporating a whole new breed of smart indie pop.
The guitars give the song a fun energy, and the vocal styling’s capture the same essence ranging from cool and composed to sometimes the whole band screaming in harmony. Although the song has a fair amount of repetition to it that is what gives it all the more staying power. With the spot on delivery of cheeky lyrics like “You don’t like her proposition but your heart beats your brain into submission.” Don’t Be A Devil leaves a lasting impression that will have the listener playing it over and over again.
